This place was awesome! My wife was really craving a smoothie. She's pregnant, so we had no choice but to get one. Perhaps you know how that is. Anyway, we decided to go her and we got ourselves a smoothie and it was amazing! I wish I could figure out how to make smoothies like that. We have been telling people about this since we went there.
We took advantage of the time to go to the Polynesian grocery store next door. Then came back and waited another 10-15 minutes for her to make everything up. The guys on break from work at the next table told us we were in for a treat. I'm not surprised to find we apparently don't agree on what a treat it. I also don't wear a baseball cap on backwards, and baggy cargo shorts, so there are other places we aren't fully simpatico either.
I have had this on the list to try for a long time. Now, I don't get it. OK, I get that you can stick anything into a tortilla and call it a taco. Anything between two pieces of bread is a sandwich. They do stick stuff into a tortilla. Not very much of it, and it's kind of muddled flavors. The toppings overpower it. Anyone who has read my burger reviews can pretty much knows what's coming. If the meat isn't the star, the burger fails. The filling for the taco isn't the star here at all. Fail. In the same way that I don't think mashed potatoes would add flavor in a sandwich, they don't add flavor in a tortilla.
Now for the real fail. It's lunchtime. If there's a crowd here, you aren't seeing any food for a long time. There was the giant crowd of four guys in front of the wife and I. Here, that's a giant crowd. They ordered several tacos apiece. The poor girl taking the order told us it would be a while because she had a lot in front of us.
My wife and I love the Irish tacos at O'Crowleys. I really like the fruit bowl as well. This is one of our favorite places to eat.
It's hard to find good gluten free food. Yummy eats!
We love this place! The tacos are unique and tasty ... the sauce they cook them in is amazing! The smoothies are also our favorite and we are there often getting some yummy smoothies. I also super appreciate the service. I came in once I think before they were open to get eight smoothies and they totally let me come in and made them all! I'd recommend this place for sure!
